Simplify 11(2k)

Solution

 =11(2k)

=11 x 2 x k

=(11 x 2) x k

=(22) x k

=22k


Hence 11(2k)=22k

Find average of 6, 8 and 7.

Solution

6 + 8 + 7 = 21

Total of numbers = 21
Given Numbers = 3

Average = Total of numbers ÷ Given Numbers
                = 21 ÷ 3   
                = 7


Hence average is 7

AREA OF PARALLELOGRAM B1

Find area of the following parallelogram.

Area = base x height

         = 14 x 3

         = 42


Hence area = 42m2

Simplify 10p + 5m + 2m + p

Solution

=10p + 5m + 2m + p

=10p + p  + 5m + 2m

= 11p + 7m 

Hence 10p + 5m + 2m + p = 11p + 7m

Simplify 10p + 5m + 2m + p

Solution

=10p + 5m + 2m + p

=10p + p  + 5m + 2m

= 11p + 7m


Hence 10p + 5m + 2m + p = 11p + 7m

Given Numbers = 2
