Solution

m + m + 40⁰ = 180⁰

2m + 40⁰ = 180⁰

2m + 40⁰ – 40⁰ = 180⁰ – 40⁰

2m + 0 = 140⁰

2m = 140⁰

2m  = 140⁰

Hence the value of m is 70⁰

Perimeter of the following triangle is 140. Find the value of a.

Solution.

Perimeter = total of all sides

      100 = 2a + 5a + 3a

      100 = 10a

      ¹⁰ 100    = ¹10a

         ₁10         ₁10

 

      a = 10

Hence a is 10
