If 3:5 = 11:3B; Find the value of B.

Solution

3   =  11                             [cross multiply]
5       3B

3x3B = 11x5

9B = 55


9B = 55                      [divide by 9 on both sides]
9        9

B = 55/9

B = 61/9

Hence the value of B is 61/9
