Perimeter of a rectangle is 200cm. If its width is 40cm, find its length.

Solution

200 = 2(length + width)

200= 2(L + 40)

200=2L + 80

200-80 = 2L + 80 – 80

120 = 2L+0

120 = 2L

⁶⁰120 =  ¹ 2L

    ₁2       ₁ 2

L = 60

Hence Length is 60cm.
