Find the area of trapezium below.

Solution

Let h=height, a=upper side, b= lower side.

h=10m, a=8m, b=3m.

Area = ½ x h x (a + b)

Area = ½ x 10 x (8 + 3)

Area = 1 x ⁵10 x 11

Area = 1 x 5 x 11

Area = 55

Hence area is 55m²
