If a=5 and b = -2, find the value of 4ab – ab²

Solution

= 4ab – ab²

= (4 x 5 x -2) – 5 x (-2)²

= (-40) – 5 x (-2 x -2)

= (-40) – 5 x 4

= (-40) – 20

= -60
